External quality assessment (EQA) of performance of laboratories participating in the European Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance Network (EARS-Net), 2019
This report provides an analysis of the external quality assessment (EQA) for the antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) performance of laboratories participating in the European Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance Network (EARS-Net) in 2019. A total of 952 laboratories (1–95 per country) from 30 EU/EEA countries participated in the EQA exercise.
Infant and children seasonal immunisation against influenza on a routine basis during inter-pandemic period
Annual influenza vaccination of risk groups has been common practice in Europe and elsewhere for many years. Routine influenza immunisation of healthy children has been recommended in some countries, to reduce morbidity among children with the potential additional benefit of reducing the spread of disease and thus indirectly protect adults at high risk of severe influenza.
Mathematical modelling of programmatic screening strategies for latent tuberculosis infection in countries with low tuberculosis incidence
Elimination of tuberculosis (TB) requires the management of latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) in key populations. Thus, people with LTBI need to be diagnosed and treated with appropriate regimens. It is unknown how different screening and treatment strategies of key populations affect TB transmission and progress toward elimination.
Implementation of the Council Recommendation on seasonal influenza vaccination
In support of the EU Council Recommendation of December 2009 on seasonal influenza vaccination, this technical report provides data on vaccination policies and strategies, vaccination coverage data, and data on barriers to vaccination for seasonal influenza in the EU/EEA countries.
Seasonal influenza vaccination in Europe – Vaccination recommendations and coverage rates for 2013-14 and 2014-15
Overview of vaccination recommendations and coverage rates in the EU Member States for the 2013–14 and 2014–15 influenza seasons.
Cost-effectiveness analysis of programmatic screening strategies for latent tuberculosis infection in the EU/EEA
The elimination of tuberculosis (TB) in Europe will require the management of latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) in key populations. Management of LTBI requires the identification and adequate treatment of infected people. It is currently unknown how screening and treatment of key populations should be best organised to have the highest impact with the available resources.
Seasonal influenza vaccination in Europe – Vaccination recommendations and coverage rates for eight influenza seasons (2007–2008 to 2014–2015)
Vaccination recommendations and coverage rates in the EU Member States for eight influenza seasons: 2007–2008 to 2014–2015.
Antenatal screening for HIV, hepatitis B, syphilis and rubella susceptibility in the EU/EEA
This report is part of an ECDC project on the effectiveness of antenatal screening for HIV, hepatitis B, syphilis and rubella susceptibility in the EU/EEA.
Retrospective surveillance and enhanced case-finding of congenital rubella syndrome cases
The generic protocol presented in this document was developed for ECDC by fellows of the EPIET programme to provide EU/EEA Member States with an adaptable tool to estimate the incidence of congenital rubella syndrome (CRS) cases in their countries.
