This publication reports on measles based on surveillance data from 1 January 2016 to 30 June 2017 and epidemic intelligence up to the first week of September 2017. For rubella, the report covers surveillance data from 1 July 2016 to 30 June 2017.

The ECDC measles and rubella monitoring report is published twice a year. The January issue reports on the previous calendar year, while the July issue focuses on the most recent measles and rubella season and presents the data collected over the past 12 months.

The summer issue of Measles and rubella monitoring covers disease surveillance data collected during the past 12 months and reports on the progress towards measles and rubella elimination in EU/EEA Member States.
