Acute respiratory pandemics: how to plan for and manage
This practical course will cover outbreak investigation, pandemic planning, recent developments in respiratory pathogen biology and therapy, and will focus around two practical scenarios in which participants will gain experience in managing an acute epidemic. Research during an epidemic and ethical aspects will also be covered.

ECDC is organising an expert consultation meeting in Stockholm in order to contribute to a better understanding by public health experts of the mechanisms through which scientific evidence feeds into decision-making processes during emergencies.

ECDC launches e-learning course and operational tool for development of rapid risk assessments
ECDC launches a new e-learning course on rapid risk assessments (RRA) as well as an operational tool that describes the RRA methodology used by the Centre. The course and the tool support public health experts responsible for developing RRAs at European, national or sub-national level.
