The European Scientific Conference on Applied Infectious Disease Epidemiology (ESCAIDE) is an annual three-day scientific conference, open to the wider communicable disease surveillance community.

On 30 May - 1 June 2012, ECDC and the WHO Regional Office for Europe (WHO/Europe) jointly held their second Annual Influenza Working Meeting in Warsaw, Poland. The main work undertaken by delegates in over 20 sessions and 70 talks and discussions was reviewing progress in the last 12 months and agreeing on the work for the coming year.

In a keynote speech in the “Vaccination in Europe” session at the IANPHI European Directors meeting on 8 April 2019, ECDC Director Andrea Ammon outlined the current challenges in the area of vaccination and how EU-level policies and programmes can help tackle the situation.

ECDC experts will be presenting on a number of topics at the 5th ESCMID Conference on Vaccines in Bilbao on 6-8 September 2019.

The European Commission organises, in cooperation with the World Health Organisation, a Global Vaccination Summit on 12 September 2019, in Brussels.

The event is a platform for governmental institutions, professional and patient organisations, country representatives and media to come together and discuss the current situation regarding antibiotic resistance and the actions taken to address them by all stakeholders, both at EU/EEA and national levels.
