This will be the first joint meeting of the EARS-Net and HAI-Net Coordination groups. The meeting will address epidemiological, microbiological and technical aspects related to surveillance and reporting of antimicrobial resistance and healthcare-associated infections.

European Public Health Microbiology (EUPHEM) - Core Competency Development for EUPHEM coordinators and host sites representatives

This EUPHEM Module gave opportunity to EUPHEM fellows to get familiar with roles and responsibilities of a European organization involved in infectious disease control and to identify activities related to epidemiological surveillance, including protocols, data analysis and reports developed to set up surveillance systems, evaluation schemes and results of surveillance data analyses.

The meeting brought together researchers, microbiologists and public health experts to discuss how public health can benefit from the recent scientific and technological advances in molecular microbiology, with special focus on the rapidly evolving next generation sequencing technology.
