Joint WHO/Europe–ECDC Annual European Influenza Surveillance Meeting, 2018
The joint annual influenza surveillance meeting by ECDC and the WHO Regional Office for Europe took place on 6 - 8 June 2018 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Invited participants were epidemiological and virological surveillance experts nominated by national health authorities as well as representatives from international institutions, covering the 53 countries of the EU/EEA and the WHO European region. The meeting was by invitation only.
ECDC Annual Influenza Meeting, 2017
The annual influenza meeting focused on new developments in influenza surveillance at the country and regional level, seasonal influenza vaccination programmes, provided an update on the global situation with regard to outbreaks of avian influenza and other emerging respiratory pathogens, and provided a forum for exchanging experiences from the past influenza season.

Diagnostic workshop on Real-time quaking-induced conversion (RT-QuIC) to enhance MS capacity to diagnose CJD
In order to enhance the understanding of the methodology and its consistent application, a training day on the analytical and clinical aspects of analysing cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) samples by RT-QuIC in the investigation of patents with suspected sporadic CJD (sCJD) was held at the National CJD Research &amp; Surveillance Unit (NCJDRSU).
7th Food- and Waterborne Diseases and Zoonoses Network (FWD-Net) meeting
Emerging diseases and outbreak investigations, whole genome sequencing-based surveillance and public health risks related to animal and food imports to the EU/EEA were some of the topics under discussion during the Food- and Waterborne Diseases and Zoonoses Network meeting.
