Dengue epidemic in Martinique, France
French authorities have reported an increased number of dengue cases in Martinique in recent months. The number of cases notified constitute the largest outbreak reported on the island in the last decade.

Epidemiological update - dengue in Réunion
Since the beginning of 2018 and as of 14 May, 2 980 autochthonous cases of dengue have been reported in Réunion. The main areas affected are in the western part of the island. The most prevalent serotype among dengue cases is DENV-2 and the main vector implicated in the outbreak is Aedes albopictus.

On 14-15 January 2015 an ECDC consultation gathered public health experts, entomologists and epidemiologists from Europe, as well as experts from WHO, CDC and PacNet, to review the EU preparedness to dengue and chikungunya importation and onwards transmission and produce a roadmap towards improved EU preparedness.

Epidemiological update: Outbreak of dengue in Madeira, Portugal, 13 February 2013
As of 3 February 2013, the Portuguese Ministry of Health has reported 2 164 cases of dengue infection from the Autonomous Region of Madeira since 3 October 2012. No deaths or cases of severe dengue have been reported. All reported cases refer to the resident population of the island.

Epidemiological update: Outbreak of dengue in Madeira, Portugal, 13 December 2012Archived
As of 9 December 2012, the Portuguese Ministry of Health has reported 2 050 cases of dengue infection from the Autonomous Region of Madeira. During the outbreak, 121 people have been hospitalised and no deaths or cases of severe dengue have been reported. Two patients remained in hospital as of 9 December 2012.

Epidemiological update: outbreak of dengue in Madeira, Portugal, 7 November 2012Archived
As of 4 November 1 148 cases of dengue infection have been reported, of which 517 were laboratory confirmed. The case definition has been revised and an automated surveillance system has been set up with the support from ECDC. The changes that were put in place meant that additional cases were identified retrospectively.

On 24 October 2012 the Portuguese Ministry of Public Health (Direcção-Geral da Saúde) confirmed 52 cases of dengue fever and 404 probable cases, compared to 37 confirmed and 262 probable cases in their last update of 17 October.
