1st Eastern Partnership Ministerial Conference on Tuberculosis and Multi-Drug Resistance Tuberculosis
High-level meeting to discuss the burden of TB and MDR TB and its elimination as a public health problem in the EU/EEA and Eastern Partnership countries.
This Conference took place under the Latvian presidency of the Council of the European Union. It aimed at discussing sustainable health systems responses to support tuberculosis prevention and control globally, reduce the burden of tuberculosis and Multidrug Resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) and to ultimately eliminate TB and MDR-TB in EU/EEA and Eastern Partnership countries.
The meeting brought together Ministers and high-level officials from national governments, international and non-governmental organisations and was organised by the Latvian Ministry of Health, in cooperation with WHO Europe, The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, the Stop Tuberculosis Partnership, the TB Europe Coalition and the European Commission.

Joint meeting EU/EEA Tuberculosis (TB) Surveillance Network and WHO/Europe National TB Programme Managers
21 Jun 2016 to 22 Jun 2016 - This meeting brought together TB experts from countries belonging to the WHO European Region and surveillance experts from EU/EEA countries to discuss the common goals of eliminating TB in Europe.
Meeting of the Joint ECDC/WHO Surveillance Network for Tuberculosis and Wolfheze Workshops
26 May 2015 to 29 May 2015 - The 2015 meeting of the Joint ECDC/WHO Surveillance Network for Tuberculosis was held in The Hague, the Netherlands, on 26-27 May 2015. The meeting was organised jointly by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) and WHO/Europe for TB surveillance experts from WHO European region including European Union/European Economic Area (EU/EEA) Member States (MSs). The participants included 47 nominated contact points for TB surveillance from 42 countries, as well as experts from ECDC and WHO/Europe, WHO headquarters and country offices. In addition, experts from seven EU Enlargement Countries and from the KNCV TB Foundation (the Netherlands) attended the meeting as observers.
Addressing TB and MDR TB in high-priority countries
1 Apr 2015 to 2 Apr 2015 - At this technical meeting, tuberculosis experts from high-incidence countries (Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Romania) discussed ways in which ECDC can support with development and implementation of country strategies to prevent and control the disease.
