Bilateral interoperability workshops between Portugal and Spain: the role of bordering regions - Spain

A poster presented by Spain at the IV Joint EC /ECDC /WHO Workshop on Pandemic Influenza Preparedness in Luxembourg in September 2007 describes overarching actions taken by Spain and Portugal to improve the level of interoperability of pandemic plans between both national and local authorities in the two countries.  A series of meetings have taken place to establish a contact and to share working lines. Pandemic influenza preparedness : interoperability between the autonomous region of Galicia and Northern region of Portugal - Portugal

A poster presented by Portugal at the IV Joint EC /ECDC /WHO Workshop on Pandemic Influenza Preparedness in Luxembourg in September 2007 describes actions taken to develop a coordinated response to pandemic influenza between Health Authorities of Northern Region of Portugal and Galicia. Working groups from both regions held regular meetings, developed an alert and Communication system to adequately control public health emergency situations, and finally planned and carried out a joint simulation exercise using an avian influenza-based scenario.
