Surveillance situation monitoring and assessment in a pandemicArchived
Use of a National Computerised Infectious Disease Reporting System (CIDR) for enhanced surveillance and reporting on novel viruses (Ireland)
Ireland has developed and implemented a national electronic reporting system called CIDR. The database is a single repository for all information on notifiable infectious disease, and links epidemiologic and laboratory information into a single event report. This database has multiple potential uses, but it will be particularly valuable to generate real-time datasets on first pandemic influenza cases and outbreaks.
