On 9 and 10 May ECDC will celebrate Europe Day by joining in the activities at Stockholm’s Central Station organised by the Representation of the European Commission and Information Office of the European Parliament in Sweden, among others.
For the third consecutive year, ECDC will take part in the Europe Day activities. ECDC experts – Chief Scientist, Professor Johan Giesecke and Head of Public Health Capacity and Communication Unit, Professor Karl Ekdahl will participate and present the main areas of ECDC’s work to protect EU citizens from infectious diseases.
There will be Swedish Members of the European Parliament and the EU Minister of Sweden present, quizzes, food tasting and dance organised by the embassies of different countries. The full two-day programme can be downloaded here.
Europe Day is highlighted each year throughout Europe to commemorate the Robert Schuman declaration of 9 May 1950 which was the first step towards the creation of today’s European Union. For more information about Europe Day, click here.
