This year’s key conference on infectious diseases, the 2012 European Scientific Conference on Applied Infectious Disease Epidemiology (ESCAIDE), is taking place between 24 and 26 October in the vibrant city of Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. The conference will be hosted at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) in the centre of the city.

ESCAIDE is organised by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), and aims to bring together relevant professionals from across the globe with an interest in public health, epidemiology, microbiology and associated disciplines, and their application in the control of infectious diseases.

Planning is well underway for 2012, and information about keynote speakers, events and activities at ESCAIDE will follow in the coming weeks. In the meantime, please note the following general deadlines: 

• Conference registration: opens late Spring
• Call for abstracts: early June- mid July
• Notification of abstract results: last week of August
