28 Jan 2013
ECDC

From 20 to 26 January 2013, ECDC monitored several on-going public health threats within and outside the European Union (EU).

In relation to influenza, in week 3, thirteen countries and the UK (Northern Ireland) reported medium intensity and Iceland reported high intensity. Geographic spread was reported as widespread or regional by 13 countries. In the EU there were no new outbreaks of measles and rubella.

The CDTR also reports on dengue in Madeira, where sporadic cases are still being reported.

The ECDC CDTR is a weekly bulletin intended for epidemiologists and health professionals in the area of communicable disease prevention and control.
