The ECDC 4th Annual Food and Water-borne Diseases and Zoonoses (FWD) Network Meeting will hold discussions on the current status and development of ongoing activities within FWD and the future needs for surveillance and outbreak-related activities. The meeting focuses on the epidemiology of campylobacteriosis, yersiniosis and shigellosis and the recent STEC/VTEC outbreak in Europe.
The first day will be a joint day with EFSA’s Task Force on zoonoses data collection, thus providing a good opportunity to strengthen the collaboration with the veterinary sector.
This is the first attempt to share and discuss topics that need a common approach such as harmonisation of surveillance of Antimicrobial resistance in humans, food and animals and investigation and reporting of food-borne outbreaks.
