Launch of European Antibiotic Awareness Day 2010

European Antibiotic Awareness Day 2010 will be launched in the European parliament on 16 November 2010.

Speakers will highlight the following topics:
• Antibiotic resistance in hospitals: latest data and situation update
• Tackling antibiotic resistance through public health measures
• Outcomes of EU Belgian Presidency conference on “New strategies to monitor and control infections”

The event will include a presentation by Marc Sprenger, ECDC Director.
