Expert meeting Chlamydia control in Europe
30 May 2012 - 31 May 2012 | ECDC, Stockholm - Sweden | Organized by: ECDC

This expert meeting is part of the ECDC project on chlamydia control in Europe and aims to provide EU Member States with evidence-based information that is needed for the development and evaluation of chlamydia control strategies and to monitor progress in chlamydia control in Europe.

The goal of the meeting is to give an update on recent evidence about chlamydia control, to provide a platform for the exchange of expert opinion and to reach consensus about the following specific areas:

  • The strength of evidence for the association between reproductive tract complications and untreated chlamydia infections;
  • The evidence for the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of chlamydia screening in Europe;
  • The need for and feasibility of a population based chlamydia prevalence survey in a number of EU/EEA Member States, especially in those with limited epidemiological data.
