Interim surveillance case definition for influenza A/H5N1 in humans in the EU Version April 2006

The following definition is developed from the WHO guidelines for global surveillance of influenza A/H5 and is intended for European countries. It should be used, in the current situation (WHO, Prepandemic Phase 3) for the purpose of undertaking surveillance for cases of influenza A/H5N1 infections in humans in EU. The definition is not intended to be used for diagnosis or management of cases.
