ECDC was established to provide the EU and its Member States with independent and authoritative advice on threats to human health from infectious diseases. We want our partners, and the general public, to be confident in ECDC’s independence and excellence. ECDC therefore strives to be open and transparent about how we operate and how we are funded. ECDC INDEPENDENCE POLICY
In December 2012 ECDC’s Management Board adopted a comprehensive independence policy, subject to a final technical review by the European Commission on certain legal aspects of the text.
