The 2014 European Scientific Conference on Applied Infectious Disease Epidemiology (ESCAIDE) took place 5-7 November 2014 and welcomed a record number of participants: 608.
The Conference started with an engaging keynote address on the relationship between pathogens, globalisation and politics.
Three days of plenary sessions and presentations on all aspects of infectious disease prevention and control ensued.
ESCAIDE 2014 hosted its first BarCamp, which was attended by an enthusiastic group of professionals in all stages of their career and led to interesting, open discussions. The Conference closed with a plenary dedicated to the global response to the ongoing Ebola outbreak and sharing experiences and views on the control efforts.
